Gadgets & Things: Tried (1 Month+) and Liked

Written by Michael | Aug 23, 2024 12:19:51 AM

Not trying to endorse (and make a few bucks out of) products that I have used. But here are really game changers for my life, and work:

  • Reclining keyboard tray (ex-music sheet tray)

I recycled a music sheet tray (that used to belong to my older son) into a reclining keyboard tray that can toggle between sitting and standing modes. One of my favorite "inventions" of all time.

  • Glasses Leg Wrappers

Now I need to wear glasses, I also need to find something that can ease the pain on my ears after wearing glasses for too long. I found these leg wrappers for glasses that really work for me, including for sunglasses. I bought a pack of more than 5 pairs or something and put them on quite a bunch of glasses. A friend in need.

  • Redmi Bluetooth Ear Buds ($10/pair x3)

Redmi Buds 4 Pro: $10/pair (from Temu.com, I bought 3 pairs)

Color taped to distinguish between different devices: blue for iMac, yellow for Galaxy phone at home, orange for phone out of home.

  • Kitchen Aid dishwasher

It's not inexpensive, but in hindsight, kudos to my wife for picking the best dishwasher I could trust. I don't mean whether it's truly taking cleaning to the next level. But I do vouch for its low noise when it's working. I remember once staying at a friend's place during a vacation trip and I had to crash in the living room about 10 yards from a dishwasher, and I didn't sleep the whole night due to its loud noise. This one at our home doesn't bother me a bit!

  • Fotile range hood

This is for health ultra-conscious types. We started with this early in 2024 and now feel much at ease with a lot of cooking smoke or steam getting sucked outside. This brand (Fotile) is a household name among the Chinese population, both in the US and back in China. I cannot recommend it high enough.
