Photography, Video & Other Creative Workspace
I got an accidental reward while taking some amateur shots during a reporting trip in China with my New York Times correspondent. The photo landed on the front page, while the written story got buried deep inside the pages. Here are some shots or narratives that made me proud of what I do every day:

This was pre-social media. If I were lucky today in getting a shot on the front page, I'd become a millionaire on social media (by followership).
Later, I did get another clip onto nytimes.com, and this time it was more of smart/hard work then luck. Check out this jook dancer who impressed Yo-Yo Ma and many more:

The story of change up on the mountains
This was inside a gallery of our glacier exhibition many years ago. A person was photographed against a three-panel projection that filled the wall with magnificent glacier images under Mount Everest and other big mountains in Asia. We were affording the visitor a visual feast of the scale and magnitude of the glaciers and how alarmingly fast they are melting. And we also made a video about the story:
Community Transformation
I was particularly proud about this project because I intentionally sought out extra photos from the community organization we were filming. They collected quite a group of before-and-after photos of the neighborhood and individual houses both the interior and the exterior. It was a heart warming transformation of the community. And I made sure to use some of the visuals in the video story as well:

Variations of animated social assets created for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)'s National Prevention Week 2023 campaign
A layman's eyes always need some help. A dotted line to show where the glacier was. And a Statue of Liberty to give the viewer a sense of perspective and scale.
