If you haven't seen or heard of Matt Friend, the latest impersonator comedian who carved out his own slice of the marketing mimicking Trump and others, watch this below, a couple of minutes of him at the White House Correspondents Association dinner.
Which brings me to this cool ad TD Bank (US) did a few years ago promoting its VoicePrint feature. (Full disclosure, I worked there at the time and helped promote it both internally and externally. I personally think this is the coolest ad out of the banking sector for a while, until this PNC "Boring is Essential" came along.) This guy, Jim, is super talented and, according to the ad, fooled all the family members of the folks who were being impersonated. Yet he failed the VoicePrint every single time, frustrated on camera.
And it would be really cool, if TD could get Friend and a couple of celebrities to do an encore of this ad from years ago. But I won't blame TD if it cannot afford it, or none of its celebrity customers is willing to play game.
